35th FAI World Gliding Championships 2018 – Hosin, Czech Republic: The 2018 World Championships were held under exceptionally good weather conditions, resulting in a total of 12 competition days.
Throughout the entire competition, Michael Sommer flew the EB29R with an average speed of 136.52 km/h, and Felipe Levin flew the EB29DR with 135.82 km/h.
Michael Sommer achieved the fastest flight of the competition in the Open Class on the second contest day with 161 km/h.
Overall, the EBs were able to maintain the top positions throughout the entire competition.
In the final standings, Petr Tichy – EB29R – finished 3rd, Felipe Levin – EB29DR – 2nd, and Michael Sommer – EB29R – took 1st place on the podium.
With this victory, Michael Sommer claimed the World Champion title for the fifth time.
The Team Cup of the 2018 World Championships went to the German pilots!
